Poor Kyon is the one that is stuck with the job of keeping the god entertained. The minute he decided that he is now a mature, logical, reasonable high schooler, all the things that he chose not to believe in showed up at school. Lovely, how they all just popped up: androids, time travelers, ESPers, and even his very own god. You know how all this loveliness began? Just like how most trouble begin for all guys: he opened his mouth and talked to a girl.
The title 5 Centimeters Per Second comes from the speed at which cherry blossoms petals fall, petals being a metaphorical representation of humans, reminiscent of the slowness of life and how people often start together but slowly drift into their separate ways.
The film is split into three acts that are major points in the life of Takaki Tono as he makes friends, falls in love, and yet, slowly drifts away or loses touch as we all do, by the forces of life working against us. It’s a heart-wrenching and believable tale of a common ordeal, something we all face, but because of Shinkai’s poignant and emotional direction combined with breathtaking artwork; these simple moments create an indelible impression and sweep us away in the deceptively simple story.
In short, 5 Centimeters Per Second is both a masterpiece visually as well a stunning achievement in storytelling and you really, really, REALLY need to see it.
President Bush expressed strong support on Tuesday for Ukraine’s ambitions of eventually joining the NATO alliance on the eve of a meeting of NATO leaders in Romania where Ukraine appears likely to be rebuffed.
Beginning a week-long trip through Eastern Europe, Mr. Bush vigorously embraced the long-sought goal of Ukrainian President Viktor A. Yushchenko, whose aspiration for NATO membership faces fierce opposition at home and from Ukraine’s biggest neighbor, Russia.
“Your country has made a bold decision,” Mr. Bush said, seated beside Mr. Yushchenko during his first visit to Ukraine, “and the United States strongly supports your request.”
The NATO meeting, which begins on Wednesday in Bucharest, will consider full membership for three countries, Albania, Croatia and Macedonia, and plans for potential membership for Ukraine and Georgia. The latter nations, both former republics of the Soviet Union, have asked to be considered, but their applications have met skepticism within the alliance, as well as open opposition from Russia.
Today men pay more attention to their hairstyle than 20-50 years ago. Back then it was enough to go to the barbershop, get a shave and at the same time also a standart haircut. No one would ever consider going to a hairstylist. They were strictly for women. Of course, today the modern man goes to the stylist in an attempt to replicate today´s newest fashion trends. There is a large choice of modern hairstyles for the stylish man. For example, one particular style calls for the back of the neck to be completely shaved while the top portion of the hair is long. Another style is to grow one´s hair out in the pageboy style or to simply a ponytail. Continue reading
A growing number of people, mostly her opponents, are publicly calling for Sen. Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the Democratic presidential contest and cede victory to Illinois Sen. Barack Obama. He leads in both total delegates and the popular votes of past primaries but has yet to gain the number required to win nomination.
This would, of course, essentially render meaningless the votes of Democrats in a bundle of upcoming primary states including Indiana, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

While many people claim to be able to forgive and forget, there is the one little curse which hangs over our heads called memory which constantly reminds us, whenever certain elements line up, of the egregiousness in question which brings back all those horrific feelings. But, there are steps you can take.
Talk it Out: Most of us claim that we will forgive and forget when we have been wronged in one way or another. But it is never as easy as it seems. So if you have been wronged and you are feeling personally violated from this event then perhaps you need to address the issue squarely where it lies. Once you have thought through all your problems with said person or event then you need to sit down and calmly let them have it! You need to yell, you need to cuss, you need to get every last thing off your chest so that you can finally say to yourself that you have said all you need to say on the matter in question.
Keep It to Yourself: After having your rage session the idea will be squarely back in your frontal lobes and you will suddenly feel the urge to bring this issue up at otherwise inappropriate times. If this is your partner, whenever their good friends or relatives are around; out at dinner; in the car. While these may seem like completely logical times to berate someone you care about, this attitude is forgetting the whole deal (forgive and forget) in the first place. Also, brining up an otherwise private matter in public places with random strangers or with close friends is a pretty bad idea, if for no other reason than because no one else knows about it.
Yell at Yourself: While the constant urge may strike you to yell and yell and blame yea who wronged, it should be remembered that there had to have been an underlying impetus, a first instinct, a major issue at play here. So rather than turning it around and dealing with the incident, why don’t you look a little closer at your own involvement in the event from the get go. Once you have taken responsibility for your role in the event, then and only then will you be able to forgive. Next time you are in that same situation, you would do wise to not forget.
